Shropshire company has a double celebration with anniversary and award nomination

A mum-of-three who started her own business five years ago has been nominated for a national award.

Lesley Pascall, of Muxton, will enjoy the double celebration of her business anniversary and being named as a finalist in the Bizmums awards next month.

Mrs Pascall, who has worked in the beauty industry for 15 years, took the step to launch Body Blitz Beauty and become an Evanji Sugaring therapist franchisee in Telford because she wanted a better work-life balance.

She said: “I put my heart and soul into Body Blitz Beauty and it is amazing to think of the way the business has changed over the past five years.
“People come to me because of my experience in the industry but I make sure that I keep up to date too.
“I have added many different treatments to offer people over the past five years, been on a lot of training courses and developed the business.

“I feel over the years customers have begun searching for more natural based products so I try to keep all products as natural as possible, for example Evanji Sugaring hair removal uses a completely natural paste and has been used as a treatment in Arabic countries for hundreds of years.”

Mrs Pascall has a dedicated beauty room and visits clients at home also.

She has flexible working hours to fit around her children who are 20, 16, and 13-years-old.

Her children have also helped her with her business over the years leafleting and helping out at shows and events. They also provide a babysitting service for when clients need to bring children with them.

Because of this she has been able to expand the range on offer, adding lash and brow tinting, manicures with shellac treatments, minx foils and Fake Bake spray tanning. She has recently been involved in the launch of a new range of make-up and skincare from Fake Bake Beauty at Home, a party plan which will recruit and train people who want to run their own cosmetics business.

She also continues to offer bridal make up.

And it is this hard work which has landed her a nomination for a Bizmums Health and Beauty Award.
“It was a surprise but I was so pleased to be nominated,” she said.
“I have nominated people before but this is the first time my name is on the shortlist.
“Everybody else who has been nominated are experts in their fields too, it would be fantastic to win - a perfect way to celebrate the business anniversary.

“It would mean that all the effort I put in to going on training courses had paid off.

“There are a lot of people out there doing a great job in this industry, it would be nice to have recognition and stand out.
“The event is a coming together of like minded people who all support each other so it should be a lovely day too.”

Mrs Pascall, who has recently started running the monthly Telford evening meetings of Bizmums, will find out if she has won at an award ceremony in Cheshire on October 17.

To celebrate Body Blitz Beauty will also be offering autumn offers such as three treatments for the price of two.
