Shropshire Cat Rescue's charity shop relocating to new Shrewsbury town centre premises

Shropshire Cat Rescue’s charity shop is relocating to new premises in Shrewsbury town centre.

Previously based at Roushill Bank, the shop is on the move after completing the letting of new larger premises at 69 Mardol.

The shop extends to approximately 938 sq ft and occupies the ground floor of an imposing three-storey Grade II Listed building.

Toby Shaw, who handled the letting for Towler Shaw Roberts, said: “The property benefits from a prominent town centre location and is situated among a range of national and independent traders.

“It boasts a large glazed display frontage with open plan retail accommodation.

“We wish Shropshire Cat Rescue’s charity shop continued success in their new town centre premises.”

Tracy Cross, trustee for Shropshire Cat Rescue, said: “Our charity shop generates much needed income to help us to look after the cats and kittens that are brought to us every year needing treatment, care and love.

"The new shop location in Shrewsbury means that people can drop off donations easily and gives us more space to display more clothes, homewares and gifts.

"We look forward to welcoming our existing customers and many new faces through our doors when we open on September 1 and we would be very grateful to receive any donated saleable items to help with our fundraising activities.”

The charity shop plays an important role in fundraising for Shropshire Cat Rescue, which has been rescuing and rehoming cats since 1989.

It provides shelter, food and veterinary care for homeless, stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens, also rehoming where possible.
