Shrewsbury businesses to get free digital marketing advice at event

Two of the region’s top digital marketing speakers are to talk to businesses in Shropshire next month as part of Carafair 2015.

Amanda Dodd, a leader in the field of digital marketing in the northwest, will be visiting the county on June 3rd to speak at the Carafair at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on the ‘Future of Social’.

The free event will also welcome online marketing expert and Google Partner Helen Culshaw who will be talking about ‘Getting to the top of Google in 2015’.

The Carafair, a business expo event with speakers and workshops, is hosted by Shrewsbury-based consortium Caradoc Medical Services and will take place on June 3rd from 1pm to 5.30pm.

Helen Culshaw, managing director at Ascendancy Internet Marketing in Shifnal, who will be speaking at 3pm, said: “More and more businesses are realising the potential for marketing their business online and this year’s Carafair Expo will be a great opportunity for businesses to learn how they can get to the top of Google in 2015.

“I will be talking businesses through content marketing, how to optimise their website for search engines, the benefits of Google advertising and what not to do in 2015.

“It should be a fantastic event and I’m looking forward to meeting some great Shropshire businesses.”

Amanda Dodd, who has worked with numerous top brands in her career, including  Liverpool Football Club, HSBC and Argos and won Business Woman of the Year in 2014, said: “Social Media is something we have to pick up and move forward with as the next generation do things differently to the way we do it, or used to do it. Technology changes but the process behind it is still the same.

“The future of Marketing - in digital and traditional forms - is relationships and building them with people we want to work with.

“It’s about being authentic, edgy, and creative; giving our following what they want.  It’s about being the best we can be!”

Amanda will be speaking at 1.30pm on the day and will be looking to give businesses five tips that will help them harness their use of social media in the future.

Caradoc, the sister company of Shropdoc, is a not-for-profit organisation and it is free to join the buying group with no membership fees. The consortium was originally set up to help local GP practices save money but now has members across a range of different sectors nationwide.

The Caradoc Supplier Conference and Awards ceremony will take place at the Greenhous Stadium from 11am to 12.30pm, before the doors are opened to the public.
