Rybrook on the ball

A Shropshire football team celebrated the renewal of a major sponsorship deal by winning its first preliminary round of the FA Cup.

Haughmond Football Club, which plays at Shrewsbury Sports Village, beat Walsall Wood FC 3-2 to progress to the next round of the competition, as representatives from sponsors Rybrook Motorrad looked on.

Rybrook BMW covers Shropshire, Mid Wales, the West Midlands and Birmingham with its range of Motorrad sports and touring motorcycles, having its main showroom and workshops in Wolverhampton.

Drew Sutton, head of business for Rybrook, said: “Haughmond are the nearest team to our Shrewsbury branch, so this is just part of our continued involvement with the local community and it is good to see them doing so well in the Midland Football League.

“Several of the players and spectators are also customers for both our cars and motorcycles, so this provides us with a great opportunity to showcase our various models throughout the range.”

Haughmond FC committee member Mark Jenks, added: “This is the third season that Rybrook have sponsored the team with full home kit and sports bags and we are delighted to be highlighting their business name and BMW models at matches in the Premier Division.

“We are extremely grateful to them and this is a perfect example of a prestigious business supporting grassroots sport in the local area and their sponsorship is greatly appreciated and essential to clubs like ours.”
