Pentabus Young Writers Programme

Are you aged 16-25? Are you interested in telling or writing stories? Do you write plays, theatre projects or films? Do you write lyrics, librettos or songs? Do you know anyone who does?

At Pentabus we're starting the 6th year of our Young Writers’ Programme. Through a series of FREE workshops we’ll teach you the principles of great playwriting, and how production elements like acting, writing and design can make a story come to life onstage.

You’ll work with professional playwrights, actors, directors and designers, writing a short play or project for professional production at the end of the course. We will be running monthly sessions in Hereford, hosted by Hereford College of the Arts and in Shrewsbury hosted by Theatre Servern.

The 9 month programme is FREE and ends with the professional production of the Young Company Writers’ work in summer 2019.

'The Pentabus Young Writers' programme made me a playwright. The group was inspiring and it was amazing to have the doors of a theatre company thrown wide open!' Young Writer 2016

'What other theatre company would make a promise to a group of 16 to 25 year olds of ‘Whatever you write we will produce’? Pentabus did which was amazing to be a part of... Working with the young writers, organising and running the workshops was hugely rewarding. But to be a part of bringing those plays to life was really inspiring.' Simon Longman, 2014 Writer in Residence & Young Writers Tutor
