Pension specialists get ready to bake off for charity

A team of specialist pension advisers is looking for the next Mary Berry as they host their own charity bake off this month.

The event which is being held at the Pensionlite office on Stafford Court in Telford, is part of a series of events and challenges which staff will be taking on throughout the year.

In January Pensionlite staff and volunteers completed a 24-hour rowathon raising over £700 - rowing a total distance of 301,887 metres.

The team is also planning a coast to coast cycle ride across Britain and a 20 mile hike over the Long Mynd.

Pensionlite marketing manager James Tomlinson said: “After last month’s rowing challenge we have slowed things down a little with our bake off.

“We know there will be lots of people who enjoy baking cakes and we would love for them to take part and showcase their skills and creations.

“There will be two categories, one for adults and one for children with a winner and runner-up announced on the day.

“If people don’t want to take part they are still more than welcome to come down to the office and join us for a slice of cake and a coffee.

“We will be selling the cakes after the judging has taken place, so there should be plenty on offer for those with a sweet tooth.”

Entry into the competition is £5 with all proceeds being donated to Pensionlite’s 12 months of charity cause.

The company is supporting Compton Care, Hope House, Severn Hospice, Jayne Sargent Foundation and Lingen Davies who all have a personal connection to the business.
