Open Day at Integral Health Centre

A complementary health and wellness centre in Shrewsbury is staging an open day on Saturday April 11.

The Centre for Integral Health, in St Austin’s Friars, will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm with a host of free taster treatments and classes for visitors to experience.

Mini classes are also being held on mindfulness, meditation and Chi Kung and the centre will be serving tea and ‘healthy’ cake.

The centre is currently running a crowdfunder campaign to raise £5,000 to pay for building work that will enable it to create a larger training room, class and workshop space and double its capacity.

The campaign has so far raised £3,135 - 63 per cent of the total. It needs to raise the target amount of £5,000 by 7pm on Wednesday April 15 otherwise, under crowdfunder rules, it will not be entitled to any of the funds pledged so far.

People can donate to the campaign by pledging money in return for rewards, ranging from therapy treatments to a day’s guiding or mountain biking skills course for up to four people. The centre supports the work of more than 20 small businesses.

Centre founder Ben Calder said: “The next few days is going to be nail-biting, but we’re hoping for one last big push to raise the £5,000 target in time to meet the deadline. We are touched and thrilled by all the amazing support we have received so far.

“The open day will be an opportunity for visitors to come and see what we do and get a real taste of the services we provide.”
