'Not on the High Street' introduces local designer

One girl band of designer, illustrator and artist Cherie Jerrard has had her creative range added to the giant online presence that is Not on the High Street. "I was preparing to join the site prior to lockdown but everything sped up once the shops closed " says Cherie.

'Cherie did this' began as a way to funnel my creativity and supporting myself and my daughter. I always wanted to be an artist but I'm aware that it isn't the easiest way to pay the bills. Cherie had a shop called 'Ripe' in Grope Lane for 13 years while still working in London, the little shop attracted a cult following. I remember kids hanging outside or in the changing rooms. We welcomed people to draw on the walls and there was a vintage Space Invaders machine. Girls would love our bow accessories and we gave away magazines that Shrewsbury was thirsty for. "During this time I began to move away from fashion design towards gifts and studied illustration in Manchester" .

I've been humbled by the support of people here in The Shire and there are local faces popping up with my products in the range featured the website.
