National recognition for Peakes Travel …

A Shropshire travel team is celebrating after being nominated for a prestigious national award against opposition from over 500 agencies of all sizes.

Peakes Travel Elite of Shrewsbury is shortlisted for the Travel Trade Top 50 Award and will attend a gala presentation evening at The Vox Centre in Birmingham next month.

The awards are judged through a points process by a panel of travel industry experts, focussing on business success and customer service, followed by interviews and visits to determine and judge the style and layout of premises and the journey that a customer may experience.

Office manager Claire Moore, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be acknowledged for our work efforts, especially against such stiff opposition from travel companies from across the whole country.

“We are now looking forward to attending the glitzy awards event in Birmingham in April where we hope to take a top prize, although to reach this stage is a fantastic success in itself.”

Peakes Travel Elite, based in a historic building at 11 Mardol in Shrewsbury, is the town’s only family-run independent travel agent and caters for all kinds of travel and holiday requirements from city breaks, through traditional family holidays to short and long haul travel.
