The National Festival of Running

The National Festival of Running is a three-day event taking place at Weston Park in Shropshire on Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2019, and the organisers are promising “a weekend away with your running family and friends like no other”.

The National Festival of Running will feature four UKA-approved races, classes, live music, running stories, meet ups, camping, a shopping village and more. The 5K takes place on Friday evening, the Half Marathon and Festival Mile on Saturday, and the 10K on Sunday. Entry to all races is included in the ticket price and runners can earn a medal for each race completed. Endurance runner Susie Chan and 400m champion Iwan Thomas MBE will be hosts for the weekend.

A series of classes will take place over the course of the weekend, focusing on key areas of running: yoga for runners, running technique, recovery zone and strength and conditioning.

There will be two fully equipped sound stages providing live music, and DJ Jo Whiley has been confirmed as the Saturday night headline act. The ticket price includes camping for the Friday and Saturday night, with designated zones including Family Camping, Quiet Camping, General Camping, Campervan zone, plus dedicated community areas for running clubs and community groups.

It is set to be an inspiring weekend away for individuals, families, groups of running friends, running clubs and communities, who will be able to gather to celebrate the sport they love, enjoy an uplifting festival atmosphere in a spectactular location, and meet and make new running friends.
