Law firm helps to cook up a storm at food festival

A leading law firm will be helping to cook up a storm in Shrewsbury this summer when a major food festival returns to town.

FBC Manby Bowdler are sponsors of the Cookery School at the 2019 Shrewsbury Food Festival which will take place on June 29 and 30 at Quarry Park and around parts of the historic town centre.

The Cookery School is one of the key highlights of the event giving thousands of expected visitors the opportunity to pick up some top culinary tips from expert chefs and producers.

This year festival-goers will have the opportunity to learn how to make ice cream, how to reduce food waste, create environmentally aware puddings, explore a range of South East Asian and African cuisines and pick up some top vegan cooking tips.

The demonstrations, featuring a range of top chefs from around the county, will take place across the weekend on the FBC Manby Bowdler sponsored Cookery School stage.

Charlotte Nutting, an Associate at FBC Manby Bowdler and Head of the firm’s dedicated Leisure and Hospitality Team, said organisers of the festival were working hard to make this year’s event the best yet.

She said: “We are thrilled to be a part of this fantastic event which will showcase some of the very best produce and culinary expertise which Shropshire has to offer.

“There will be talks, demonstrations, a range of activities for all the family including a dedicated children’s area and, of course, the opportunity to sample and purchase some delicious food and drink.”

FBC Manby Bowdler launched its dedicated Leisure and Hospitality Team last year in response to continued growth within the sector across the region.

It’s commercial property clients’ work across hotels, bars, brasseries, restaurants and guest houses.

Charlotte added: “Over recent years the leisure and hospitality industry in Shrewsbury, in particular, has become incredibly buoyant. There is a constant stream of bars and restaurants opening up and we’re seeing a tremendous number of new start-up businesses specialising in the food and drink sector.

“Of course events like the Food Festival are excellent for showcasing what the region has to offer and many of our own clients will be attending the event.

“We will also be there to show our support. Members of our dedicated team will be on-hand to speak to new and existing businesses and provide any advice we can, and to soak up the festival atmosphere.”
