The Hive host ‘Yours Sincerely’ as part of LGBT History Month

The Hive will play host to Quick Duck Theatre’s 'Yours Sincerely' on Saturday 22nd February. It is a funny, heart-warming show where storytelling and lip-sync cabaret collide to explore the complications of 21st century communication. This queer coming of age comedy is at the heart of LGBT history month. Arts Alive are facilitating the show as part of their programme to bring the arts to rural communities.

The plot involves Will Jackson wanting to revive the art of letter writing. Having robbed, by accident, 300 stamps, he realises that the best way to hide the evidence is to send letters. From reconnecting with old friends and ex-boyfriends to run-ins with the marketing department at John Lewis, stamp collecting has never looked so sexy.

Quick Duck’s Will Jackson is a theatre maker and comedian. He is a Birmingham REP Foundry Artist, a BBC Arts New Creative and one of this year’s six emerging writers at the Bush Theatre. Yours Sincerely was his debut solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe and since has been named a Rising Comic Star by Attitude magazine.

New to Arts Alive, Quick Duck is an award-winning theatre company based in Birmingham who are making a name for themselves in creating innovative, entertaining and poignant work. Their work is ridiculous, openly queer, has a lot of heart and always has a killer soundtrack.

The Birmingham Post has praised Will Jackson’s work: “Wonderful, life-affirming, quirky and constantly appealing."

Tickets are still available. 'Yours Sincerely' will be performed at 2:30pm on Saturday 22nd February at The Hive in Shrewsbury. Tickets are available from
