Good, clean rating for Wellington guest house

A Wellington guest house has been awarded a ‘very good’ four-star rating and top marks for cleanliness by official tourism website Shropshire Tourism.

Clairmont Guest House, in Haygate Road, retained its current four-star standard which is awarded to premises based on a consistently good standard of housekeeping, hospitality, facilities and breakfast. The hotel had also received a perfect 100% score for cleanliness.

Owner Eileen Sanderson was happy to maintain her four-star status and proud to receive top marks for her spotless premises.

She said: “I am particularly pleased to have achieved a 100% mark for cleanliness, which is difficult to obtain in a period property with character features but clearly not impossible!”

Clairmont Guest House, which launched its new website this month, offers bed and breakfast accommodation in an attractive Victorian house with garden. It is ideally situated for Shropshire breaks and events for business or pleasure.

Retired midwife Eileen has run Clairmont Guest House for 15 years after converting the period property into a hotel. She says it is a pleasure to meet all the families, tourists, businesspeople and contractors that stay at Clairmont.

She said: “I started the business from scratch and am delighted it has become such a success story. We consistently receive lovely reviews from our visitors; and I’m very pleased to back this up with our official rating.”

Jodie Stephen, business manager of Shropshire Tourism, said: “Four stars is a very good quality rating from our detailed assessment of aspects including bedrooms, breakfast and cleanliness. Clairmont Guest House is one of six Shropshire Tourism four-star guest houses in the Telford area.”
