Glass Business Sees Clearly Thanks to Relaunch

A well respected Shrewsbury-based glass firm is celebrating the relaunch of its business, as well as the acquisition of a new division thanks to fresh investment.

Salop Glass and Glazing, formerly known as Salop Glass, has been taken over and relaunched by Phill and David Brown, the sons of former owner Ron Brown, after a restructure of the family-owned group.

“The group also owned RE Brown Builders and this business sadly closed down a little earlier this year” explained Phill Brown, the new Managing Director of Salop Glass and Glazing. “As a result, the Salop Glass brand had to be withdrawn and the whole group closed, but my brother and I were eager to save a part of the family’s history.”

“We recognised that the Salop Glass brand was strong, that it had a large number of loyal customers, and that we’d earned a renowned reputation for quality and service, and so we took the decision to invest in the business and expand its service offering. As orders placed through the old company naturally weren’t able to be progressed, we wanted to uphold our values and ensure the transition period didn’t affect existing customers, which subsequently saw us complete outstanding work whilst absorbing much, and in some cases all, of the cost.

“I’m leading the company day-to-day while my brother is a shareholder, and we are operating from the same premises on Battlefield Enterprise Park, with the same team and the same commitment to our customers. We can now cover every need though, from glass splashbacks in the kitchen, to triple glazed units for heat efficiency and noise reduction, plus everything glass-related in between.”

“We’ve been so touched by the response from our customers, many of whom we’ve worked with for a number of years, and we’re really looking forward to growing the business across the months and years ahead” he concluded.

Salop Glass and Glazing is the trading name of Battlefield Glass Ltd and traces its history back to 1954 when the first company was launched in Shrewsbury. Registered with both FENSA and the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), the firm adheres to the strictest standards, and offers a sales and a maintenance service.
