Free science fun at Shrewsbury Shopping summer kids’ club

Snapper Jaxx returns to Pride Hill this week for “Silly Science”

There’ll be lab coats and laughter aplenty when the popular Snapper Jaxx Kids’ Club returns to Shrewsbury Shopping’s Pride Hill Centre this week, for a free day of science-themed fun.

On Thursday, 18 August, parents and children are being invited to come along to Silly Science at the Snapper Jaxx Lab for an explosive, exciting experiment. Comedy characters Benson Bunsen and Rita Reaction are hoping youngsters will be able to help them as they try to find the special scientific formula…for giggles.

“We’re really looking forward to our Silly Science Snapper Jaxx event,” said Shrewsbury Shopping Centre Manager Kevin Lockwood. “We love putting on events for children at the centre and with it being such an interesting and important year for science, we wanted to hold a kids’ club with a bit of a twist.”

Running between 11am and 4pm, the fun event is totally free for primary school-aged children. As well as helping Benson and Rita in their lab, children will be able to make their own ‘test tube explosion’ collage to take home.

“As it’s the summer holidays we wanted to make sure there was a Snapper Jaxx Kids’ Club for our younger visitors each week,” said Kevin. “We had a lot of fun at our Silly Games event before enjoying some Robot Boppin’ fun last week, and I’m sure children are now looking forward to meeting our silly scientists this week.”

The free Snapper Jaxx Kids Club is held in the Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres and has a different theme on Thursdays throughout school holidays from Easter through to the end of summer.
