Flicks in the Sticks launches new film season

Flicks in the Sticks has announced an exciting schedule of film showings in rural venues around Shropshire and Herefordshire.

With over 263 films already booked for the autumn, the Flicks team have said that they are as committed as ever to continue to bring popular films to those in rural areas. In-demand film screenings include Belfast, Downton Abbey: A New Era, Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick and the heart-warming tale The Phantom of the Open, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Flick in the Sticks, which is part of the registered charity, Arts Alive, works with over 120 communities in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and neighbouring counties, who choose which films they wish to screen in their local community space. This ensures that affordable screenings are available to every person across the region.

Ian Kerry, who has been running Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks for over 20 years said “We are so pleased to be back screening films after such a very difficult time. We know people have missed the opportunity to not only see some great films, but to watch them within their local community, enjoy some homemade refreshments and catch up with their friends and neighbours.”

“We’ve got a film to suit every taste, and all in the comfort of your local village hall. We’re really looking forward to a fantastic autumn season!”

If you’d like an evening out in a familiar space with a friendly face, head to a Flicks in the Sticks screening near you.

Details of all the events are listed on the website (www.artsalive.co.uk) and more information will be released on the ‘Arts Alive & Flicks in the Sticks’ Facebook page as well. And you can sign up for a free weekly email of events happening in your area.
