Countdown is on for Shropshire County Show

The countdown is on to the Shropshire County Show with Friday 5 April marking 50 days until the event celebrating the rural community, showcasing Shropshire and offering a fantastic fun-filled family day out.

Final preparations are underway for the action-packed show at the Greenhous West Mid Showground in Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, on Saturday 25 May 2019.

Attractions visitors can enjoy include: dazzling displays in the main arena by the likes of the Bolddog Lings Motorcycle Display Team; monster truck rides; the horse, dog and poultry shows; the livestock competitive classes; tractors and steam rollers; food and craft marquees, and a range of trade stands.

Drumming workshops, flight simulator experiences, laser tag, BMX biking, canoeing, animal encounters, storytelling and face painting, among other activities, are set to keep young visitors in particular entertained.

Neale Sadler, Show Chairman, said: “It’s just over seven weeks to the show and we’re busy making sure there’s something for everyone.

“While we’re staying true to our agricultural roots, we’ve expanded to include all sorts of attractions, for all ages - it’s really shaping up to be a stand-out show.

“So whether you join us year-on-year, or you’ve never been before, we can’t wait to see you on Saturday 25th May.”

Under 16s go free to the show, while, as in previous years, most of the activities are free once visitors enter the gates.

Advance tickets are now on sale, offering a saving on gate ticket prices.
