Clun Valley Music presents Roderick Williams and Susie Allan

We are proud to begin our Beethoven celebrations this year with a recital by one of the brightest stars in the vocal firmament, Roderick Williams.
Named Singer of the Year in 2016 (Royal Philharmonic Society Awards) and awarded an OBE for services to music in 2017, baritone Roderick Williams has performed in the world’s finest opera houses and concert halls. Joined by his long-standing musical partner Susie Allan, the pair begin their recital with Beethoven’s tender song-cycle ‘An die ferne Geliebte’ . The second part has a Shakespearean theme, with Gerald Finzi's popular Let us garlands bring and That Time of Year, a set of four sonnet settings by the late John Joubert. One of Britains most significant composers, Joubert was a frequent visitor to Clun and was associated with the Presteigne Festival.
