CJ Wildlife collaborate with National Trust on Garden Wildlife Range

Leading wildlife specialist, CJ Wildlife, has collaborated with Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, to help encourage individuals and communities to share the love of nature and play their part in protecting and caring for the environment.

Both organisations are experienced in wildlife care and champion the long-term health of local wildlife; and it is these shared brand values which are brought to life in this outstandingly complementary collaboration.

With common goals to protect wildlife – whether that is at home or on a larger scale, through the work the charity does to care for 250,000 hectares of countryside and the wildlife that lives there, this collaboration allows everyone to make a difference. Both through the creation of wildlife friendly spaces using quality products that are fit for the wildlife that need them and through the income it will generate for the charity.

Following weeks in lockdown, a new level of appreciation for our gardens and animal visitors has appeared. We all know time in our precious green spaces – no matter how big or small – has brought joy and a sense of wellbeing. A fact that many research studies support.

Initially a 5-year agreement, CJ Wildlife have pledged a significant value of a minimum of £775,000 support over the term starting at £75,000 per year and rising to a minimum of £240,000 in year five.

Central to this collaboration is a licensed range of high-quality products to help you care for the wildlife visiting your garden. Every purchase made from CJ Wildlife’s National Trust Garden Wildlife range over the course of the collaboration will contribute to National Trust projects and directly benefits wildlife.

The National Trust Garden Wildlife Range allows us, as individuals, to continue to live harmoniously and support our animal neighbours. Developed by experts, the collection includes bird and wildlife foods, bird feeders, nest boxes and accessories, mammal and insect habitats and educational charts.

The items in this licensed range have been selected based on several key criteria including material quality, effective and attractive design, and sustainability.  All the wood products are manufactured using FSC®-certified timber and several products made from recycled materials are also included. CJ Wildlife’s flagship WoodStone® material epitomises nest box durability and sustainability, both essential to benefit wildlife long term.

In the first year this collaboration will help fund woodland projects such as that on the Exmoor coast; helping the charity in its aim to plant 20 million trees by 2030 directly benefiting birds and wildlife to safely live and breed.

Claire Smith, Chief Officer for Partnerships, Products & Business Development at CJ Wildlife comments ‘We are delighted to now be working with the National Trust and are very proud of the licensed product range we are launching. Both of our organisations are passionate about supporting wildlife and caring for the places where it can thrive. We look forward to the coming years and the difference we can make together directly for our wildlife and more indirectly by sparking joy in people who connect more with nature.’

Becky Stanford, National Trust Brand Licensing Manager ‘We are thrilled to be working with CJ Wildlife and sharing the expertise they bring for the future prosperity of our nation’s wildlife. This collection will allow our supporters to provide safe environments for wildlife in their own gardens, and experience the joy that seeing wildlife flourish brings.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the support CJ Wildlife will bring to our own conservation projects and are excited to see how the collaboration will develop over the coming years.’

Products in this range will soon be available to order from CJ Wildlife and National Trust online shops as well as garden centres, supermarkets, pet shops, gift shops and other reputable sellers. Due to the current challenging manufacturing climate, the range will be rolled out gradually throughout 2020.
