Christy Keeney Ceramic Sculpture Exhibition at The Dotty Dog Gallery

Watch this space for a new collaboration between Shrewsbury’s ‘The Dotty Dog Gallery’ in 77a Wyle Cop and ‘Claudia Lis Ceramics’ in Montgomery!  In 2017 both venues will combine their expertise in the fields of print-making and studio ceramics in a series of changing exhibitions featuring the work of well-established and emerging ceramic artists from the British Isles and beyond.

The first exhibitor is RCA-trained Irish painter and ceramic sculptor Christy Keeney with a cross-section of his most recent ceramics.  Influenced by Picasso and the cubist movement Keeney explores in a perpetual process of de- and re-construction the different facets of the human condition in a masterly way.  Claudia Lis, co-curator of the exhibition explains: ’Keeney’s figurative sculptures show strong graphic and painterly elements, which make them an interesting choice for a ceramics show hosted in the setting of a gallery, such as Dotty Dog, specialising in hand-made prints.  We are very proud to show an excellent selection of ceramics by this high-calibre Irish artist and hope for a good turn-out of visitors.’

Also on show ceramics by Claudia Lis, Simon Shaw, Wayne Clark & Jacqui Atkin alongside a good selection of stunning original prints from a variety of artists such as Frances Carlile, Frans Wesselman and Jacqui Dodds.

The exhibition runs from 18th Feb – 31st March 2017, 11am – 4pm; Sundays & Mondays closed; The Dotty Dog Gallery, 77a Wyle Cop, SY1 1UT, Shrewsbury - 07772394984, www.christykeeney.co.uk
