Choir concert to mark growing Shrewsbury - West Africa link

Shrewsbury Police Male Voice Choir will be performing a fundraising concert in Oxon Church in Shrewsbury as part of the church’s growing links with a local charity working in West Africa.

The choir will singing on October 14th, with proceeds from the event going to Shrewsbury based Transform Burkina, who support some of the poorest people in the world in Burkina Faso.

The concert is the latest event held by the church as part of their links with the charity.  David O’Brien, vicar of Oxon told us,

‘Over the last year it has been really encouraging to both welcome visitors from Burkina Faso to our services and get more involved in the work of Transform Burkina in different ways.’

As well as hosting information events, the church has been supporting the charity through various fundraising activities, of which the choir concert on October 14th is the latest.

Tickets, priced £8 (including refreshments) are on sale from members of the church and on the door.  The concert starts at 7.00pm and all are welcome.
