Charity To The Rescue After Dog Show Organisers Pull Out

A SHROPSHIRE dog charity is in desperate need of local business and other support after coming to the rescue of the annual dog show in Shrewsbury after the previous organisers cancelled it.

Finding Furever Homes, who sponsor rescue dogs in foster homes and kennels across the country, is stepping in to make sure the Quarry Park dog show goes ahead as planned on 28 August, and hopes people will show their support by turning up and taking part on the day and offering sponsorship if possible.

Andrea Newton, who founded the charity, and has now renamed the event K9 Capers Fun Dog Show said: “This event is a celebration of all things dog, so when we heard the previous organisers were pulling out we knew we wanted to save the day for dog lovers in the area.”

Finding Furever Homes, which is run entirely by volunteers, is hoping the day will help them raise much-needed funds for their cause. They are inviting local businesses to get involved by sponsoring the event, taking out an advert in the day’s programme, or holding their own stall during the day.

The charity is also searching for volunteers who can help on the day.

Andrea added: “We hope people will come along for a fun day out with their friends, families and dogs! All proceeds will go towards us helping rescue dogs such as our vet’s bill which are usually around £2,000 a month.”

The event will take place on Sunday 28 August, 11am – 4pm at Quarry Park in Shrewsbury.
