Chance to Get Recognised At Fast-Approaching Business Awards

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is counting down to this year’s annual Shropshire Business Awards, which is set to recognise and celebrate the best of business in the county.

In its 16th year, the ceremony will take place on Friday 24th June at the International Centre, Telford and will see a host of category sponsors, partners, and nominees network and socialise before tucking into a lavish three course dinner followed by an evening of celebrations and a casino.

Local businesses are being urged to submit their entries into one or more of the 12 categories, which have been sponsored by local organisations including Shropshire Council, Telford & Wrekin Council, the University of Wolverhampton, Good2Great, Aaron & Partners and more.

Chris Jones, Business Development Manager at Shropshire Chamber, explained: “We’re so proud to be hosting the 16th Business Awards in June and in again getting together with many local businesses to recognise those who have made a real difference, have beaten competitors in their respective marketplaces, as well as made significant growth over the past few years.

“We recently held a poll for people to voice their thoughts on the additional category we were launching this year,” he added. “And with over 250 votes, we’ve opened up the Online Business of the Year award, with entries already pouring in and showcasing the range of diverse internet-baed businesses we have right here in Shropshire.”

With over 650 people in the audience at last year’s Shropshire Business Awards, the organisers have a few remaining sponsorship packages available to businesses who want to get involved. Sponsors receive a complimentary table for 10 at the ceremony, inclusion and acknowledgement within marketing materials, as well as involvement in the judging process for the respective award categories.

“I’d urge anyone interested in submitting an award entry to please do so online at www.shropshirebusinessawards.co.uk – it’s always open to non-members and businesses who want the chance to be recognised for what they do,” he added. “We’ve also got a limited number of sponsorship opportunities available, so please do get in touch with a member of the team on 01952 208200 to discuss in greater detail.”

A true champion of Shropshire businesses at local, regional and national level, the Chamber of Commerce offers a competitive sliding scale of membership fees based on business size.
