Chamber Launches Magazine with Support of New Patron

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome one of the region’s leading printing companies as the newest member of its county-wide Patronage scheme.

Welshpool Printing Group (WPG) has become a Patron of the organisation with aims of continuing to build even more effective working relationships with the Shropshire Chamber and local businesses. 

The new partnership will also see WPG working with the Chamber to launch a new-look Business Matters magazine, and take over the ongoing printing of the quarterly title, with the first edition being circulated during the second week of February 2019.   

Richard Sheehan, Chief Executive of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, explained: “We’ve had a long and well-established relationship with WPG over the years and are thrilled to welcome Paul and his team as Patrons. This scheme is designed to bring together leading organisations from across the region to deliver positive change and support local business communities, and we know that WPG will embrace their new Patronage role.”    

Teresa Rowe, Head of Events and editor of Business Matters, added: “We’re hugely excited to be launching the new Business Matters next year with WPG, which will not only enable us to showcase more business success stories from the region, but also open up our offer to our members by producing the magazine both in print and digital.”  

Based at Severn Farm Enterprise Park in Welshpool, WPG employs 50 full and part-time staff and produces a diverse range of printed products, from standard stationery to glossy magazines, vehicle livery and signage. The company, which has been operating in the industry for over 60 years,

Paul Jones, Managing Director of WPG, said: “We have made major investments here in Welshpool and with our state-of-the-art litho printing presses and specialist digital division for smaller print runs and faster turn-arounds, we’re committed to remaining at the forefront of UK print suppliers.

“We’ve been Members of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce for many years and becoming Patrons was a natural next step for us as a business, as we recognise the high profile and success of the Chamber Patron program. We’re very much looking forward to getting on board and engaging with businesses at all levels, which will help us to broaden our reach throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales.”
