We are pleased to announce that Bayston Hill Amateur Dramatics Society is putting on their next production after a string of successful previous shows.
For the spring production this year we decided on the 80’s smash hit classic ‘Steel Magnolias’. The story revolves around the lives and loves of 6 Louisiana womenfolk, based on the true and emotional story by Robert Harling.
The play is entirely set in Truvy’s beauty parlour, starting the morning of Shelby’s wedding. All 6 characters gather for gossip, laughter and poofy hair do’s. Their journey then carries them through bittersweet (mostly sweet) times with strength and courage.
Former member Matt Webb went to a recent rehearsal and said; “I love coming back to visit my old friends at B.H.A.D.S and this time was no exception when I sat in on a rehearsal for their forthcoming show. You don’t want to miss this one! There’s comedy, drama and the occasional tears. There’s great cast and great acting”.
The handpicked cast comprises of Kimberley Jones, Andrea Claydon, Kay Mardland, Carol Lewis, Gemma Blackburn and Wendy Bradbury, who are all set to pour every emotion into this Oestrogen dipped tearjerker, Directed by Rick McIntosh and Sarah Hindson.
Founding and current acting member Carol Lewis also had this to say; “I have been with the group since its conception and have had the privilege to act, direct and be a part of some absolutely wonderful productions. I am very excited about our current production and have enjoyed embracing the challenges of my new character. Our current cast have worked very hard and we have had a wonderful time putting this show together.”
The performances dates are; Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May 2015.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm curtain up.
