Acoustic Show Pays Homage to the Greatest Songwriters of All Time

A touring acoustic show comes to Wem Town Hall this May

An international touring show that transports audiences through the ages, to shows from the greatest songwriters of all time, is coming to Wem Town Hall this May. Dan Haynes’ Songwriters show has been booked by Arts Alive for 20th May, having been postponed from earlier this year. The greatest songwriters of all time will be celebrated with a live acoustic guitar concert, which is a touching homage to musical legends.

In this long-awaited debut show Dan Haynes pays tribute to the best songwriters, from George Harrison, Paul Simon and Don Mclean to the contemporary icons of Ben Howard, Damien Rice and Bon Iver. Dan promises to recreate and reimagine hit songs in this stunning concert, whilst interweaving his original music.

Having received five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019, this show is a must-see for all lovers of acoustic music.

‘Absolutely stunning!’ BBC Radio.

Ian Kerry, Executive Director at Arts Alive, said, “Whether it’s in a cosy folk club still lost in the sixties, or a modern-day arena pulsing with energy, a great song never fails to capture and transport an audience. In this debut show, Dan Haynes, along with good friend Jonny Knight, pay tribute to a host of songwriter legends. This is set to be a stunning acoustic performance of music from song-writing legends and contemporary icons.”

Dan Haynes’ Songwriters show comes to Wem Town Hall on Friday 20th May at 8pm. The show is suitable for ages 18+. Tickets are £13 for adults and £11 for under 18s. Tickets can be purchased by calling 01939 232299 or visiting www.artsalive.co.uk.
