90’s DJ Duo to Spin the Decks to Fundraising Goal

DJ duo, the 90’s Revival, will be bringing back their weekly lockdown live sets to raise money for charity. The 90’s livestreams will be free to watch, and supporters will be able to make a donation to a different charity each week.

The first livestream on January 16 will be dedicated to their number one fan, Georgia, and will be raising money for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

Georgia, 16, has Down’s Syndrome and has taken the title of being the 90’s Revival’s number one fan. Georgia and her mother, Nikki, came across the 90’s Revival on Facebook at the start of the pandemic and have never missed a show since.

Nikki said, “Georgia absolutely adores them. They helped her (and me) cope through lockdown. Due to her Down’s Syndrome she struggled with the change of routine, but having The 90’s Revival to look forward to every Saturday has really helped.”

Dave Prince and Paul Bennett of The 90’s Revival have been hosting online DJ sets since the pandemic began, attracting up to 50,000 views per show. Last summer they hosted a 90’s night at the Shropshire Drive-in and they have a live show planned in June at the Greenhous West Mid Showground.

DJ Dave Prince said, “We wanted to bring the livestreams back for the new lockdown as we know they bring so much joy to our followers, and this time round we thought it would be a great way to raise funds for some brilliant charities close to our supporters’ hearts.

“Right from our first lockdown livestreams in March 2020, Georgia has tuned in, week in week out. She has become a massive part of the 90’s Revival with her unfaltering dedication and the messages, photos and videos she sends to us.

“We have so much love for Georgia so the first charity we have chosen to raise money for is The Down's Syndrome Association, who support people with Down’s Syndrome to live full and rewarding lives.

“We are appealing to local businesses to get involved with sponsorship and support to help us raise as much money for charity as possible during Lockdown 3.0. We hope partygoers will enjoy a Saturday night with our awesome 90’s tunes, whilst helping us to raise money for charity. Let’s rewind to the 90’s to pay it forward!”

When asked what the 90’s Revival means to her, Georgia said, “I love them so much! They make me happy and I get all the shout outs every week.”
