Win a canvas competition launches [EXPIRED]

The Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury has launched an exciting competition where entrants have the unique opportunity to win one of two stunning large canvases by Shrewsbury-based street artist Matt Sewell!

The competition follows on from the Hive’s community street party in May, which is when the eye-catching artworks were produced by the artist – and also from the popular street art exhibition which has just come to an end in the Hive Gallery space. Both of the one-off canvases are of a bold striking design, with one painting depicting a Goldfinch and the other a Bullfinch.

Matt Sewell is a dynamic and highly acclaimed young artist, illustrator and ornithologist. He has worked extensively across the UK and internationally on projects for clients as diverse as; The RSPB, Volvo, Honda, The Guardian, BBC, Crown paint, Vans footwear, Eastpak, Paul Smith clothing and Helly Hansen clothing. His work has taken him to locations including Tokyo, Melbourne, Brisbane, Dublin, Manchester, Brighton, London, Bilbao and Madrid.

Katie Jennings, Programmes and Project Manager at the Hive said “Our competition provides a very rare chance for people to win a large one-off original artwork by Matt, who is an extremely talented artist. Entry in to the prize draw costs £3 with all funds raised supporting the Hive’s work with young people across the county. ”
