Cinema to Screen Matthew Bourne Classic In 3D

Following sold out screenings in May, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake returns to the big screen at Shrewsbury’s Old Market Hall Cinema next week, with daily showings from Monday until Thursday.

An iconic production, perhaps best–known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble, it was filmed in 3D at Sadler’s Wells, London in 2011.

Following its premiere at the same venue in 1995, Matthew Bourne’s triumphant re–interpretation has become the longest running ballet in the West End and on Broadway, blending dance, humour and spectacle to create a provocative and powerful Swan Lake for our times. Cinemagoers can now see this modern day classic for the first time in stunning digital 3D, accompanied by state of the art surround sound.

Tickets priced £10 are available from the Box Office at the Old Market Hall and Theatre Severn, by telephone on 01743 281281 or online at
