Busy weekend planned at Loton Park Hill Climb

A wide variety of classic sports cars will join the regular mix of club competitors in saloons and racing cars at Loton Park Speed Hill Climb this weekend.

The event, organised by Hagley Car Club in the grounds of Sir Michael Leighton’s stately home at Alberbury, near Shrewsbury, will play host to enthusiasts from Aston Martin, Porsche, Ginetta, Westfield and Lotus car clubs.

The weekend is also a round of the Midland Speed Championship and the Hill Climb and Sprint Association Championship, with full entries in both series.
Being two separate one-day events, practice and qualifying starts at 9.30am each day with timed competition runs following immediately afterwards in programme order.

Midland championship sponsor Neville Thomson, of Fourways Self Drive Whitchurch, who lives at Much Wenlock, will be competing himself (PICTURED) in his Dallara F3 single seat racing car.

Shropshire competitors entered include, Brian Marshall of Shrewsbury in a Porsche 944T, Jane Salisbury of Shawbury in a Subaru Impreza, John Edwards of Shrewsbury in an Audi Sport A3, Jamie Powell of Telford in a Mitsibushi EVO,  Tim Higgins of Morda in a Westfield, Gill Thomson of Much Wenlock in an OMS PR, Lindsay Summers of Tenbury Wells in an OMS CF, Nick Skidmore of Shifnal in a Tatus, Chris Wright of Telford in a Rover, Nick Tart of Bridgnorth in a March, Bernard Kevill of Ludlow in an OMS 2000M, Mark Laws of Much Wenlock in a Mini Cooper and Joe Yapp of Shrewsbury in a Subaru Impreza.
