Outline
*A one-day practical film-making film workshop aimed at 11-16 year olds.
*It’s a fun, friendly, action-packed hands-on film-making adventure.
* Workshop taught by award-winning film industry professionals
* All workshop leaders are holders of recent enhanced CRB certificates
* Practical skills taught using professional video equipment.
* Practical tuition in camera, directing, producing, sound & lighting.
* Every student will play a key role in a film crew.
* Together the group will have shot a short film by the end of day!
*Students get to experience what it’s like making films professionally!
* No previous experience necessary – just an interest in making films!
* MAX 16 PLACES AVAILABLE to ensure everybody has plenty of hands-on practical experience.

The morning: practical exercises and tuition in:

- Understanding film making conventions, watching examples of films.
- Revealing the Film Brief! - Planning a shoot, storyboards, directing actors, setting up and operating professional equipment,  shooting shots, directing on set plus an explanation of what the key film crew roles are!

The afternoon – practical shooting

- the groups will become a film-making units. each unit will make a short film under the guidance of the film tutors.
- All students will play a key role in the film shoot: director, assistant director, camera operator, sound recordist, clapper loader, shot logger  and actors.
The idea is to give all students the skills, experience and confidence to take their film-making to the next level – to make professional looking films. Once you know what to do, then the sky’s the limit!
