Tables turned on Beaver leader

What a surprise met Beaver leader Meg Wilton-Morgan as she walked out of St Peter’s church, Lee Brockhurst, following her wedding last weekend. A guard of honour of excited 1st Wem Beavers and Cubs were saluting her and her new husband Lee Bilson, a former Wem Scout leader.

Meg, who runs Palms Hill weddings and events with her mother Sue, said ‘I love organising weddings and had planned every detail of my own so this was a wonderful surprise. The children even presented us with ‘Mr & Mrs Beaver’ cuddly toys complete with veil and Wem neckers! We are very grateful to the parents and fellow leaders for arranging this surprise.’

After the service the new Mr & Mrs Bilson returned to Palms Hill House for their reception and a ceilidh. Even the intermittent heavy rain could not wipe their radiant smiles. Their honeymoon is deferred until after the Palms Hill wedding fayre on 14th September. (For more information about Beavers in Wem or functions at Palms Hill telephone 01939 235703).
