Strong year for GCSE results

Shrewsbury School is celebrating another strong year of GCSE results, with a total of 65% of the exams were awarded an A* or A grade and an overall pass rate of 98.2%, substantially higher than the national average.

Three pupils, Daniel Edwards, Sonny Koh, and Alexander Shaw, each gained10 straight A* grades and a further 25 pupils gained either A* or A grades in all their subjects.

In a remarkable display of mathematical prowess, 63 out of 127 pupils gained A* grades in mathematics - a school record.

Headmaster, Mark Turner, commented that he was delighted with his pupils’ success.

“These excellent results are a vindication of the hard work that our pupils have put in throughout their time at Shrewsbury School and the excellent guidance and support they receive from their teachers. I would specifically like to congratulate the maths department on their record-breaking achievement,” commented Mr Turner.
