Shropgeek Presents… An evening of talks for the digital and creative industries

Building on the popularity of past events, Shropgeek is proud to present...

Held every quarter, Rebellion offers an evening of talks from people working within the web / digital / creative industries. To celebrate it being (almost) Spring, Shropgeek has invited some of the digital industries most creative and forward thinking individuals to the county. This is set to be an awesome evening – not to be missed!

This event will be held at The Alb, in Shrewsbury, on Thursday February 20th and we are starting the New Year in style by packing a lot into our first Rebellion of 2014.

We've invited some of the digital industries leading talent from both Shropshire and further afield to come along, share skills and present earth-shattering ideas. There will be three headline speakers, two five minute lightning talks and five minutes at the end of the evening to give you the opportunity to share any news or announcements you have. What more could you want?

Our Rebellion #5 headliners include: Syd Lawrence ( who is the cofounder of We Make Awesome Sh and is a developer evangelist at Twilio. He has developed for companies such as Coca Cola and Microsoft and will be sharing “Some code-wrangling goodness”. David Coveney is the Director of Interconnect IT ( and by his own admission, has been in the IT industry since “forever”. David will be talking “Business”. And finally, Jonathan Lewis ( will be joining us and taking a look at “The Value of Marketing”. As a result of his amazing work rebranding Zengenti, Jonathan was recently shortlisted for the CIM New Marketer of the Year Award – best of luck Jonathan!

Kirsty Burgoine, one of the organisers of Shropgeek, said:

“Shropshire has a huge digital / creative industry and there are very few events in the county that directly cater for those involved. This event promises to be a fantastic evening combining talks from some of the most innovative thinkers and doers with a wide range of topics designed to appeal specifically to people working within the digital and creative industries.”

So why not come along and join us, listen to some inspiring talks, spark your creativity and chat with like-minded people over a beer or maybe even a cocktail (or two).

The evening is sponsored by  industry heavy weights: Campaign Monitor and heart internet. Tickets are only £10 per person and the doors open at 6.30pm with the first speaker starting at 7pm. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment. For full details of the event and to book tickets please visit the website at:
