Shrewsbury Jobs Fair – Friday 27 September

Daniel Kawczynski MP is urging all those looking for work to attend the Shrewsbury Jobs Fair this coming Friday [27 September 2013].

The Jobs Fair will take place in the Council Chamber at Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury on Friday 27 September between 10am and 3pm and will provide the opportunity for those looking for a job to meet with prospective employers to discuss potential work opportunities.

Daniel has 27 local businesses signed up to attend, all of which are interested in meeting people who may be suitable to fill their vacancies.

Daniel Kawczynski said:
“Shrewsbury has been hit hard over the last year or so with the loss of some major employers and I am keen to spread the word that there are still many great businesses out there that can offer a wide variety of employment opportunities.

So far I have 27 local businesses supporting this initiative by having a stand at the event.  They are looking for people to fill permanent or temporary positions or can offer apprenticeships.  There is still time for other employers to get involved if they consider that attendance at the Fair would be beneficial to their business and I urge them to contact me.

Shrewsbury employment trend of the past few months has been encouraging but there are still a lot of my constituents without a job or a plan to get one.   I know that similar events held in other parts of the country have been very successful and well attended.  I hope that this Jobs Fair will open up opportunities for the people of Shrewsbury who are looking for employment.”

Anyone wishing to attend this free event either as a prospective employer or as a job seeker is asked to contact Daniel’s constituency office on 01743 466477 for further details.
