Shrewsbury insurance firm awarded chartered status for second year in a row

A Shropshire insurance firm is celebrating after it was awarded the prestigious Chartered Insurance Brokers title for the second year running.

Beaumont Lawrence and Co Ltd., based in Shrewsbury, is the only company in Shropshire – and one of less than 100 across the UK- to hold the award.

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) gives the exclusive title to firms demonstrating the highest standards of professional practice – a trait the directors at Beaumont Lawrence have held in high regard since it was founded in 1973.

Ben Lawrence, managing director, said receiving the status for a second year in a row was a great achievement and helped to celebrate the firm’s 40th anniversary.

“Following our first successful year as chartered brokers, we are very pleased to be acknowledged by the CII that we are at the forefront of the brokering community and we have retained our chartered status following a stringent review.

“There are less than 100 nationally credited brokers in the country and none in Shropshire except for us. It is a real achievement and honour for our company.

“This is a recognition from the CII that we have a achieved a certain standard with technical competence and compliance and we have a certain level of qualification among our staff and they recognise that we are one of the top brokers in terms of technical ability.

“It just proves that after 40 years as a family business in Shropshire, we are still going strong.”

Chartered status, granted by the Privy Council, is the industry’s gold standard for insurance brokers.

Mr Lawrence said the accolade is well-deserved by staff at the company, who always provide the best possible service for customers.

He said: “We are so proud to be recognised for the second year in a row for our commitment to providing a first class service. It’s a wonderful testament to our hard-working staff.”

Mr Lawrence said commercial insurance is rarely straightforward and often very complex.

“An essential process of our client relations is to gain a thorough understanding of their business and through this professional approach, we provide effective solutions, specifically tailored to client needs.”

Beaumont Lawrence & Co Ltd offers a wide range of insurance products for all sizes of business across the UK – from SMEs to large multi-national corporate.

Every client account is subject to a continuous risk appraisal procedure, enabling the company to recommend updates to client’s policies, premiums or cover whenever necessary.

“We have a dedicated department to handle this important aspect of business and I believe it is thanks to this sort of procedure that we have been recognised by the CII,” added Mr Lawrence.
