Shrewsbury comedy club announces next act

A former winner of a top comedy award is the next act lined up at a new Shrewsbury comedy club.

Popular town restaurant and music venue Henry Tudor House, situated off Wyle Cop, launched the new venture for 2014, booking several high profile comedians for its first two events this year.

“Both evenings sold out very quickly, proving that there is a big demand for high quality stand-up comedy in Shropshire and we are excited about our forthcoming event,” said Henry Tudor House proprietor Graham Jenkins.

“Big crowds turned out for the first comedy club nights, featuring four comedians, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Tickets are now on sale for our event in April and I’m sure it will be equally as successful,” he said.

The next live comedy evening at Henry Tudor House will be held on April 9 and a former winner of Channel Four's prestigious 'So You Think You're Funny' competition will be headlining.

Rob Rouse has since been a regular performer at major venues on both the London and national circuits and he will be on stage in Shrewsbury with a range of other comedians.

The club is held on the top floor of Henry Tudor House which has a purpose-built stage, high quality lighting and acoustics and can seat up to 100 people.
Tickets cost £12 each and are available from Henry Tudor House or online at www.henrytudorhouse.com/live.
