School’s music scholarship success

Leading Shrewsbury preparatory school Prestfelde is celebrating one of its best years for music scholarships.

The London Road school has announced that five of its final year pupils have won top awards.

Cameron Hughes-Williams, Edward Hart and Rory Leslie have all been awarded music scholarships to Shrewsbury School, Giles McLoughlin has received a music exhibition to Shrewsbury School and Benjamin Bush achieved a music scholarship to Wrekin College.

“This is one of our most successful scholarship years for music and demonstrates what a strong school Prestfelde is in this field,” said Mark Groome, headmaster of the school, which educates almost 300 girls and boys aged from three to 13.

“We encourage all our pupils to play an instrument from the very youngest age and are thrilled for the five talented boys who have been successful in achieving places at Shrewsbury School, we wish them every success,” he added.
