Pink Christmas for town business

A Shropshire business is having a pink Christmas this year - in a bid to raise money for charity.

The Toni & Guy salon in Castle Street, Shrewsbury, is serving specially-created pink mince pies and pink fizz to clients from now until Christmas Eve.

"We are having a slightly different Christmas celebration in the salon this year as our mince pies will be pink,” said salon manager Lauren Foskett.

“These special savoury snacks will be served to customers, along with some lovely pink sparkling wine, and in return we are asking for donations to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a charity we raise money for throughout the year.

“We hope as many people as possible will enjoy our pink festive treats and give generously for this brilliant cause," said Lauren.

Lauren is a specialist stylist who works with cancer patients who have lost their hair through chemotherapy, becoming the first hairdresser in the region to specialise in working with the Macmillan charity through its ‘Strength in Style’ programme.

She spent time on a training course in London, meeting with Macmillan nurses and people who had lost their hair due to treatment and learning about what they go through and how she could help.

The team of staff at Toni & Guy in Shrewsbury organise regular fund-raising events throughout the year for Macmillan and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
