#Oneoffstory Christmas Video Unveiled

The two minute film aired tonight at 6.35pm following the Christmas Lights Switch-On. It forms part of a fifteen-minute toy themed projection by new media light artist Andy McKeown.

The film, which follows the highly popular ‘Summer in Shrewsbury’ video, illustrates the journey of Emily as she shops the snowy streets of Shrewsbury and enjoys a series of close encounters with a handsome young man.

Kirsten Henly, Shrewsbury BID Manager, said:  “The nation is gripped by anticipation of how brands are connecting emotionally with audiences at Christmas through creative marketing campaigns and it’s now time for Shrewsbury to stand out as a brand and destination. We’re lucky here in Shrewsbury to have so much local talent on which to draw, including Aaron Child of Painted Life Productions for the film and Andy McKeown for the projection. Additional lighting projects are also being planned, adding cultural and creative arts to the late night shopping and leisure experience.”

“Our Christmas marketing campaign also includes a one-off guide to Christmas in Shrewsbury, which will be distributed to thousands of homes and businesses which has information on places to dine out, what to buy and events and places to go out to this party season, as well as social media activity, press and outdoor advertising. We are looking forward to a busy period working alongside a wide range of seasonal events to raise the town’s profile as the place to visit, shop, spend time in and discover this Christmas.”

Both the Christmas Cracker Event and Lights Switch-On mark the beginning of seasonal shopping in Shrewsbury and are organised by the Shrewsbury Town Council and Shrewsbury Shopping Centres with support and sponsorship from Shrewsbury BID.
