New Shropshire safety company launched for mountaineers and community groups.

A specialist first aid training company in Shropshire has launched a new business to help budding mountaineers to enjoy their hobby in safety.

InRad-Mountaineering, which is the new sister company of InRad-Medical, provides high quality mountain activities and training.

Former research professor, Dr Robert Price, is bringing his specialist knowledge of the first aid and training industry to the new business.

Dr Price, who is from Market Drayton, said: “InRad-Medical specialises in educational, industrial and outdoor pursuits groups.

“I felt that there was a need for a company which would help mountaineers who might need guidance and advice to safely enjoy being outdoors.

“This is when I decided to create InRad-Mountaineering, which is dedicated to offering mountain activities and training.

“We are keen to emphasise that it is important to respect the environment and flora and fauna when taking part in any outdoor activities.

“We offer a number of activities for people who do not have to be experts.”

The activities range from organised walks to 16-hour first aid courses to make sure that people are prepared if there are any slips or falls.

Dr Price said: “There are a lot of people out there who want to get out and about into the countryside but may not necessarily feel they have the skills needed to do so.

“Activities, such as mountaineering and rock climbing, can be dangerous activities if you are not fully prepared or qualified enough to cope with the situations you may be faced with.

“However, at InRad-Mountaineering we have the fully qualified and experienced staff to help and ensure the safety of the participants.”

Dr Price’s enthusiasm for first aid was born out of his experiences in cave and mountain rescue, as well as a climbing and mountaineering instructor.

He said: “It may be that someone wants to have a go at rock climbing or abseiling or to learn essential navigating skills but need some guidance.

“Our corporate events are ideal for team-building and group bonding. They can last one or several days.

“The great outdoors is there to be enjoyed by all but it should be done safely. That is where InRad-Mountaineering comes in and where I believe there is definitely a need for its services.”

Dr Price said he would also be offering special prices to community groups such as Scouts and Guides.
