New partnership promotes importance of hydration

Two thriving Shropshire companies have joined forces to educate local children on the importance of hydration.

Crossbar Coaching, who deliver sport across the curriculum in a number of county schools, have agreed a partnership with Wenlock Spring, who have been bottling spring water for 25 years.

Wenlock Spring, based at Wolverton, near Church Stretton, will supply Crossbar Coaching with bottled water which will be enjoyed by children attending the company's development centres and school holiday football courses.

Gavin Cowan, Director of Crossbar Coaching, said he was delighted with the partnership.

He added: "We are always pleased to link in with local companies to benefit children. A significant part of what we do in terms of health and wellbeing is educating the children on nutrition and hydration.

"Wenlock Spring is a local company that shares the same beliefs as we do.

"They have just released a 250ml sports cap bottle which will be used to hydrate children at our academies.

"Our desire is to reiterate that in order to perform to a high level in sport or in everyday life, it is vital to stay hydrated."

Matthew Orme, Director of Wenlock Spring, said he was equally pleased with the new partnership to promote the importance of healthy hydration and the implications this has on performance.

He said: "At Wenlock Spring we are passionate about bottling our spring water and are delighted to be partnering with Crossbar Coaching to promote healthy hydration in children.

"Our 250ml sports cap bottle was launched in 2013 to fill a gap in the market for a smaller-sized, sugar free drink.

"This size is perfect for children on-the-go and to act as a hydration burst during exercise.

"We look forward to refreshing children at Crossbar academies - hopefully helping to provide children with that extra burst of energy!"
