New business in Shrewsbury creating jobs

A new furniture business is opening on Battlefield Enterprise Park, creating new jobs and bringing a vast new range of furniture to Shrewsbury for the first time.

Coach House Furniture is opening on Saturday 28 September with a special event where huge discounts will be available on selected items.

The 1,500 square ft showroom is based in Vanguard Way, Battlefield Enterprise Park, and is the brainchild of Shrewsbury businessman, James Owen.

The new venture will create five jobs, and Mr Owen said he was hopeful of a bright future.

He said: “I think Shrewsbury is a great place to do business and I am really looking forward to the new venture. Creating jobs in such deep recession is something that fills me with pride, and with the support of the local community I think we can make a real success story here.

“We have worked tirelessly with our suppliers to produce a high quality range of oak furniture that is available exclusively at our store. Priced much more competitively than our competitors we expect it to be a huge hit.”

The opening event on Saturday 28 September will start at 9am and customers can look forward to complimentary glasses of champagne and snacks, as well as some extra special discounts.

Store manager, Mike Cummings, said: “We would advise people to come along early because we are offering some ridiculous discounts on some great pieces of furniture for our opening day.”

He added: “We’re a Shrewsbury-owned independent business and are very much looking forward to getting started. We’re really keen to get the word out that we’re up and running and will be running regular promotions over the next few months.”

Coach House Furniture is in Vanguard Way, Shrewsbury, and will be open seven days a week.
