Nail Art Workshop for Children In Need

Pudsey Bear will get a glamorous make-over when a Shrewsbury nail bar stages a fundraising nail art workshop on Saturday in aid of Children In Need.

Christine Charles-Harland, who runs Calypso Nails in Shrewsbury’s indoor market, is running the workshop for children and teenagers, aged seven and upwards, who are interested in learning the techniques of the art.

The event, between 9.30am and 10.30am on Saturday, is being held as part of a week-long Children In Need fundraising campaign by traders in the market hall and costs £5 per person. All proceeds will go to the charity.

“Youngsters will get to play with different colours and varnishes, learn how to come up with painted designs and how to apply nail glitter, diamantes and rhinestones,” said Christine, who runs monthly nail art workshops.

“I love seeing the children enjoying themselves, getting stuck in and experimenting with the different varnishes.”

Youngters will be given nail wheels to create up to 20 different designs and get to choose from nearly 40 different colours using both nail art pens and gel polish. Christine will also be showing them how to produce ‘Pudsey Bear nails’, based on the spotty design of his famous eye patch.

Calypso Nails can be contacted on 07974 441257 or [email protected]. Christine’s next workshop, based on Christmas designs, will be held on December 7.
