Mayor’s Charity Ball to be held at stunning new venue.

On the 30th November the exclusive new wedding and events venue, Palms Hill, will be the stunning setting for the annual Mayor of Wem’s Charity Ball. This promises to launch the festive season in style with numerous Shropshire dignitaries in attendance.

Traditionally the Mayor of Wem has opted for a spring event however Cllr Connie Granger, who was successfully elected back in May, wanted something different. ‘I want this Ball to be something really special. I have opted for a stunning new venue and a range of local suppliers that will really show what Wem and the surrounding area has to offer.’

Worthwhile local charities

Connie is hoping to raise much-needed funds for the Mayors Charity. This in turn supports a wide range of worthwhile local charities in and around Wem. ‘These local charities are the backbone to our community and I feel very strongly that it is my duty to support them.’

Local businesses have been very supportive, with table centrepieces kindly donated by TMS Events of Oswestry and decorations by Sweet-a-Hearts.  In aid of such a good cause Shrewsbury based caterer Oak Apple is offering gourmet canapés followed by a three course meal and Tipples is providing arrival drinks.

With numerous dignitaries from all over Shropshire in attendance as well as local people wishing to support such a worthy cause, this surely is a must on the social calendar.

Exciting new venue

Meg Wilton-Morgan of Palms Hill said ‘When Connie approached us back in June we were so excited to be involved with such a good cause. We love hosting events and believe that by working closely with the Mayor we will be able to put on a truly special event remembered for years to come.’

Palms Hill is an idyllic new marquee wedding and event venue near Wem, with views of the Welsh hills. The extensive gardens, including the traditional walled garden, are all part of this unique venue run by daughter and mother, Meg and Sue Wilton-Morgan. With years of experience both in running events and in business generally, they believe they have the perfect mix of professional experience and a relaxed, relationship orientated, approach.

Tickets are still available for this unmissable event and include a drink on arrival, canapés, a gourmet three course meal with coffee and entertainment.
