A level success at Shrewsbury School

Shrewsbury School is celebrating an outstanding year for A Level results, with an overall pass rate of 100% and 83% of the exams awarded the top A*, A or B grades.

There are many individual success stories in this year’s results, not least the 14 pupils who gained at least 3 A* grades and the 53 pupils who gained an A* or A in all their subjects.

In addition, 14 pupils at Shrewsbury School with offers from Oxford or Cambridge Universities achieved the required grades to meet their offers and will be taking up their places later this year.

The school’s AS results from the lower sixth pupils were also extremely impressive, with 71% of grades achieved at A or B grades, a significant increase on recent years.  A total of 46 pupils gained A grades in all their subjects and over 80 gained nothing lower than a B.

Shrewsbury School headmaster, Mark Turner, expressed his delight at his pupils’ success.

“I am extremely proud of this year’s splendid collection of A Level results, which are a tribute to the hard work of our pupils and staff alike.

“The outstanding set of AS results from our lower sixth pupils also bodes well for further success in next year’s A Levels,” commented Mr Turner.
