Head of Saudi Investment Authority presented with ‘Invest in Shropshire’ portfolio

As the Chairman of the Saudi Arabia group in Parliament, Shrewsbury’s MP recently presented the ‘Invest in Shropshire’ portfolio to the Head of the Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority.

Daniel Kawczynski recently hosted the Governor of the body responsible for Saudi Arabian investments for roundtable discussions with Members of Parliament and Lords. As part of those discussions Daniel presented the Governor with the ‘Invest in Shropshire’ portfolio, detailing the favourable economic conditions for investing in the county as well as a number of specific opportunities hoping to attract inward investment. The report was compiled for the visit to Shropshire by the Chief Executive of UKTI, the Government body responsible for promoting inward investment into the UK.

Speaking about the report and the visit by the Saudi delegation, Daniel said ‘the report is a detailed account of the fantastic opportunities Shropshire has for investors. After working with Shropshire Council, the Shropshire Chambers of Commerce and UKTI, I am now working hard to sell these opportunities to potential investors.

I was delighted therefore to be able to present this portfolio to the Head of the Saudi Arabian General authority, As the largest Arab state in the Western peninsular with over 5% growth in the last year, the Saudi economy is of real global importance and invests in exactly the high calibre projects detailed in the ‘Invest in Shropshire’ portfolio.

The Governor was very impressed and interested by the opportunities I presented to him, however I will not stop here and  will continue to work to attract interest in our county.’
