Floral Finesse for the Shrewsbury Flower Show

To celebrate the run up to the Shrewsbury Flower Show and to welcome in the summer months, Shrewsbury town centre will soon be adorned with flowers and floral tributes as the Best-Dressed Shop Window Competition is officially launched for 2013.

In partnership with Shropshire Newspapers and Shrewsbury Business Chamber, the competition will decide the best shop window displays created by businesses throughout the town. Entrants must follow a floral theme, where promotional material will be provided to inspire each design.

The competition is open to all and free to enter, with various categories available for different business types. These include the small shop category (for premises with an 18ft frontage or under), the large shop category (those with over an 18ft frontage), floral shops and charity shops.

Lucky winners will be toasted pride of the town and awarded with commissioned trophies, sponsored by the Darwin and Pride Hill shopping centres, to be presented on Tuesday 6th August.

Judging will take place on the morning of Monday 5th August, ahead of the Show, where judges will decide which window display in each of the four categories best represents what the Flower Show brings to Shrewsbury every year.

Businesses wishing to take part must submit their entry forms to Barbara Morris at Salop Leisure, Emstrey, before Monday 29th July in order to be officially entered and judged by the panel.
