Emma joins the Prestfelde team

A new teacher has been appointed at Prestfelde School in Shrewsbury to be head of ‘Little Prestfelde’, covering nursery, reception classes, as well as years one and two.

Emma Thelwell, a former early years advisor with Shropshire Council, will now take charge of around 100 pupils aged from three to seven at Prestfelde, based in London Road, Shrewsbury.

“I am very excited to be joining such an outstanding school as Prestfelde, which has an excellent reputation throughout Shropshire,” said Emma, who lives near Wem and was also formerly a teacher at Woodside School in Oswestry.

“The team of staff have made me very welcome and the children of the four classes I am overseeing are delightful. I am very impressed so far with the brilliant facilities here and, most importantly, the lovely, friendly atmosphere,” she said.

Emma has a professional qualification in early years education, as well as her teaching degree, and during her time with the council advised nursery schools throughout the county.

She is married with two children and enjoys horse riding in her spare time.
