Emerging Artists Showcase at Weston Park

Weston Park’s Granary Art Gallery is showcasing a selection of artwork from some of the UK’s brightest up-and-coming talent. Until Monday 27th January, visitors can see original works including paintings, sculptures and photography from promising art graduates emerging from colleges and universities across the UK.

The exhibition offers a chance to spot and buy some exciting and affordable original art from the breakthrough artists. Some of the more unusual pieces in the collection of around 50 artworks include striking sculptures made from materials such as steel, iron, plastic and plaster.

Weston Park’s Curator and Head of Learning Gareth Williams, who selected the works to appear in the exhibition, comments, “Our first graduate show last year was a real success and this year entries have come in from far and wide, from Cambridge to Chester to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Manchester. We’re just as proud to see works by new artists hanging in the gallery as we are of the internationally famed pieces which regularly grace its walls as part of ourrolling programme”.

The Granary Art Gallery is open daily from 11am – 4pm and entry is free. Teas, coffees, light bites and homemade cakes are available in the Deli, while the Grill serves up hearty meals from a seasonal menu.
